About Me

Hello! Thanks for stopping by! :)

My name is Mehedi. I am a 2nd-year PhD student in Computer Science at the University of South Florida, where I work as a research assistant in the Engaging Computing Design (EnCoDe) Research Lab. I am fortunate to be advised by Dr. Julia Woodward.

My research interests lie in Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), augmented reality (AR), accessibility, and user experience.

I study how people with different abilities, ages, and contexts naturally expect to interact with AR headsets, and how AR systems can be designed to better align with those expectations.

My work combines empirical user research and system design. I conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, including gesture elicitation, interviews, and surveys, to understand users’ mental models of AR interaction. Building on these insights, I design and evaluate interactive AR systems such as gesture-based interfaces, pedagogical virtual agents for children, and adaptive AR cueing systems for accessibility.

If you’d like to learn more, you can explore my research projects and publications throughout this site, or view my CV here.

I am actively seeking collaboration and internship opportunities!
